Manila 2013

Assalamualaikum w.b.t,
After a month since my last journey to Bangkok, Alhamdulillah i was chosen to represent uitm for 4TH University Scholars Leadership Symposium at Manila,Philippines. Alhamdulillah 2013 given me lots of joyful moments. But deep down in my heart i know that i have to contribute something for the benefit of my religion and nation. All expenses including flight tickets , fees and other accomodation was sponsored by uitm. Alhamdulillah thanks to uitm. To be honest this was my first time to Manila and i was so excited as i love to make new friends but most importantly i hope that this journey will show me more about islam. Since this program was organised by Humanitarian Affairs UK, i was really excited as i really love humanitarian works. Basically the program have lots of talks from invited speakers on how to be an activist and it make me to think and analyse what are the problem in my place. On the third day of the symposium we went for a learning journey which was the heart of the symposium and i was chosen to go to a slump area in a metropolitan manila called Baseco Ecavuation Centre. It was just about 15 minutes from our hotel which is in the central of Manila. We spend the whole day having a child as our mentee. We did lots of activities and what make me very sad is when i saw many squaters around the evacuation center. And most of the family who lived there were muslims family. Since we went there during Ramadhan, all the non muslims friend were at first feel strange why we weren't eating anything. However we were fortunate as the organiser already prepare for us "sahur" or they called as "muslim breakfast". However, for this journey i was all alone and in fact throughout my journey from LCCT i was all alone as i never knew who i gonna meet there. Alhamdulillah in the flight before i arrived at Manila, i mada new friend. He was a Filipino guy who was working as a teacher in Malaysia and he was the one who's sending to my respective destination. It was because at first i thought there will be the organiser who pick me up from the airport however the bus only at terminal 1&2 as in Manila they have four terminal. Alhamdulillah nothing happened and one word that i can describe for filipino people is that they are all very friendly and helpful. Alhamdulillah i really enjoyed meeting new friends and walked around the metropolitan city of manila. However, unlike Bangkok i couldn't find a place like a street market to buy cheap souvenier and this time i didn't bring much money as i never intended to go for shopping spree. Since i went to Manila a week before Raya, therefore i almost celebrated my hari raya at Manila as my flight was delayed for about an hour. The best thing that i really love on my journey home i was able to have a company who's in the same flight. Alhamdulillah even though i was all alone on my journey to Manila alhamdulillah on my journey home i already made lots of new friend. A week after the symposium i received many emails and message through facebook and also many new friend requests. One of my friend from Japan planned to go to Malaysia this weekend and insyaallah i would love to help her travelling around the putrajaya. Another good news is that one of my filipino friend, she asked me to teach her Bahasa Melayu and not only that, she told me that she wanted to convert to Islam. When i asked her why, she said that when she's meeting me and few of my other Brunei girl, she feels that Islam teach people how to be a good leader. We were discipline as we pray five times a day and we also fasting but we still doing our job. Alhamdulillah she sees the beauty of Islam and now i am in the process of helping her. Insyaallah may Allah protect her and may Allah give her Hidayah to be our Muslim Sister. Insyaallah amin :)
At the end of this journey i really feel that this journey teaches me thousands of experience and most importantly i think we all muslims delegate of this symposium had successfully uphold the beauty of Islam among our non-muslim friends. Insyaallah may Allah ease everything :)

i was all alone on my journey to manila via ERL KL TRANSIT from KL SENTRAL TO LCCT

this is the real situation happen in metropolitan city of manila

Mirror of Islam

Assalamualaikum and happy ramadhan,
Today while i did my research on the internet, i happened to come across this one blog. She was writing about the Ramadhan culture in Malaysia on the perspective of non-muslim. She even said that she hated the muslim's men who are not fasting during Ramadhan and become impatience during Ramadhan. She just have the bad impression about Muslim in Malaysia but i don't blame her as she wrote based on her experience. Therefore, as a Muslim, i would like to tell all Muslims especially Malaysia to really know the real meaning of Ramadhan. As a Muslim we are all Chaliph(Messanger) of Islam. Therefore, we should always show the non-muslims the good of Islam through ourselves. If we behaved in a good ways we will become the mirror of Islam. Even the non-muslim knew the purpose of fasting during Ramadhan and they knew the advantages of Ramadhan but why can't we as a Muslim convey the truth of Islam through our conduct? It is sad as i also happened to meet few non-muslim friends from Malaysia and outside Malaysia who happened to have a bad experience with the Muslim. The role of every muslim as daie' is to convey the truth of Islam. So, may this Ramadhan brings thousands happiness and may it open the heart of us to really know about Islam. Sometimes, i think that we have many muslims in the world but how many of them would really know about Islam? Something to think of. ^_^

Ramadhan datang lagi

Insyaallah.

I miss the smell of books

I am feeling of reading the book that i bought. But i just don't have the courage to flip through the pages. There are few books i bought but did not have the chance to read. Here are my waiting lists for book that i want to read :

  1. Casual Vacancy JK Rowling
  2. House Rules Jodie Picolt
  3. To kill a Mockingbird
  4. One Hundred Name Cecilia Ahern
  5. Sherlock Holmes Volume I(almost done) Volume II
  6. Syed Mokhtar Al Bukhari
  7. Doctor in the House
actually those are all old books and i don't have any latest book. I want to buy a copy of "Reclaim Your Heart" by Yasmin Mogahed but i need to buy it through online. It has been long time ago since i spent my semester holidays with reading. To be honest i think i don't have proper semester holidays since one and half years ago. Maybe this semester holidays i should spend more time at home. Insyaallah.

Semester Holiday

Assalamualaikum and salam ramadhan to all,
today it has been a week since the end of my final exam for part 6 as a law student. To be honest i really want to start reading the book but i still feel too lazy to do all things. I've been home for 5 days and i did nothing except normal household cleaning. Alhamdulillah few days ago i got an offer from heliophon.org which is a non profit organization of UNESCO Student of California to write for an article for their online magazine. It is a golden opportunity for me as since i was small i always wanted to be an author. Actually i want to become a journalist or collumnist as i love writing. It just my fate is i will study law and i am studying law now. But i don't have any idea what to write. They have proposed few titles and i just don't have the idea where and how to start. The due date is on 26th July which is next week. For now i just googled for the idea and i hope in this Ramadhan i can write for the benefit of public. Insyaallah.

Mount Kinabalu

Assalamualaikum and salam ramadhan,
on my previous posts i already mentioned that i went for mount climbing at Mount Kinabalu. And today after few months i would like to share the story of Mount Kinabalu. Mount Kinabalu is situated at Kota Kinabalu, Sabah which is in East Malaysia. Sabah and Sarawak is situated in Borneo Island in which shared its borders with Kalimantan,Indonesia. Since past two years i always wanted to climb Mount Kinabalu. I really love adventurous activities and i always love the challenge. Only on March 2013 my father offered to sponsor my hiking at mount kinabalu. I went to Kinabalu with my father's friend which was under his office recreational club. My father already went there twice. To be honest i don't prepare much especially in terms of fitness. Due to heavy works and not enough time i only managed to do some exercise on a treadmill a week before i went for hiking. I am scared if i don't fit to go for hiking but alhamdulillah i managed to reach the peak. On my way up to the peak i have lots of mental disturbance. At one point i want to give up as i am afraid i won't be able to reach the peak on time. I can see that most of 'mat saleh' they are very tough and they can easily reach the peak faster than me. Maybe it is not our culture to make hiking as our hobbies.  But alhamdulillah my word of advise is that never go alone when u go for hiking as i believe hiking is based on team spirit. U need buddies to give u moral support so that u won't easily give up. When i reached the peak, the weather was so cold and u need to have extra layers of cloths. Better to have lots of chocolates as when u are up above the mount u will need lots of energy. The higher u climb the lesser of oxygen u have so at that moment u will feel too tired and u can only walked one or two steps and u feel tired. But alhamdulillah i reached the peak!!

Youth Peace Ambassador International Part III

Assalamualaikum and a very good day to all readers,
today i would like to continue my story about Bangkok. Night in Bangkok wasn't too bad as there were lots of night market. Since Malaysia currency is much more higher than Thailand Baht so i have spend lots of shopping and sightseeing. When i went for shopping i always look for something unique which u can't find in Malaysia. On the fourth day, we went to Kaeng Krachan which is situated about 2 hours in the outskirts of Bangkok. Kaeng Krachan as compared to Bangkok is more peaceful and beautiful in nature. We were staying at Thai Diamond Land Resort which was very beautiful. Subhanallah if u want to go to a place which have green scenery and where you can hear the cricket's sing, i would suggested that u go to Kaeng Krachan. We also went to watch the earthern house which was built by the prisoner. but the best part is that the prison did not looked like a real prison. There's no big wall surrounded the prison as the prisoner were taught to build an earthern house. Other than that, i was also been given the opportunity to plant a tree at Kaeng Krachan National Park. At Kaeng Krchan, we were further discussing more about our action plan in order to promote peace among the nations. As peace ambassador, it was very fun when u have the chance to mix with people from all around the world and listened to their current issues. At the end of this program, i had came up with an action plan titled Improving Human Rights in Malaysia: Child Beggars.. on our last day at Thailand, we spend the rest of our day went for sightseeing around Bangkok. We had the opportunity to travel by boat around Chao Phraya river. Along this journey, we can see lots of temple and the true colour of Thailand. Lastly, i really enjoyed my journey to Bangkok. Alhamdulillah this journey taught me the beauty of Islam ^_^

Youth Peace Ambassador International Part II

Assalamualaikum and salam ramadhan to all muslims all around the world,
in the previous post i had posted an introduction of my journey to Bangkok Thailand. In this post today i would like to make a new entry about thailand. Basically i went to Bangkok because i have Youth Peace Ambassador International Training and i met lots of people from all around the world. Speaking of Bangkok, there are not many muslims population in Bangkok. Even all around thailand, muslims are only 5% of the whole population. The islamic community in thailand is not very large. Mostly are residing in Southern Thailand and in Bangkok there are only few of Muslims community. I plan to visit at least one of the mosque in Bangkok but there are none nearest to my hotel. About food as a muslim the food must be halal food. The definition of halal differs among muslims all around the world due to different mazhab( school of thought) like syafiee, hanbali, maliki and hanafi. For muslims in Malaysia our definition of halal besides pork , dogs and liquour we also concerned about how the animals were slaughtered. This is what happened in Thailand. Even there are chicken served, i did not eat the chicken because i was wondering how it was slaughtered. It may be difficult for you to eat during your 10 days at Bangkok as i only eat the vegetables and luckily we bring canned food from Malaysia. For the first three days at Bangkok we only found one Thai Muslim Restaurant called Usman Thai Muslim Restaurant at Sukhumvit Soi 22. Besides that, we only at the arabic restaurant. It is very difficult to find halal food in Bangkok. At that moment i realised how i was been tested by Allah. If we do not have faith to Allah i will just eat whatever i want. But because of the spirit of Islam alhamdulillah i can go all difficulties even it is difficult to find halal food. So my advise to all who want to go to Bangkok just prepare any canned food if u couldnt find halal restaurant.

This is pak Usman the owner of Usman Thai Muslim Restaurant and he's very friendly and he can speak malay :)

Youth Peace Ambassador International Part I

Assalamualaikum, it has been a very long time since my last note. I've been very busy with all the things that i need to do. I really love travelling because when i travel more, i learn more about what is life and it make me feel closer to Allah. Last week i was chosen to represent uitm and Malaysia for 6th UNESCO Youth Peace Ambassador in Bangkok and Kaeng Krachan Thailand. It was a 10 days journey in which i feel so grateful and excited as it was my first time to Bangkok. One of my dream is i want to be a writer who wrote the stories based on her own experience and i want to make a story based on my journey to other places. it is kind of travelogue but i am not sure when will i get the chance to do all those things. 10 days in Bangkok really taught me lots of things especially about Islam. Being a muslim among many non-muslim's friend in a country which Islam is not the official religion is not very easy. Here i was able to practice what i was taught theoritically and it is not easy to put from theory to practice. Yeah it was not my first time going overseas but this 10 days experiences are very different and rare. I am agree that when u become an ambassador of your country you are also an ambassador of Islam. During my journeys i made friends from people all around the world. They are asking me why i wear hijab, why i eat halal food , why i pray etc. Here i see the importance of full knowledge of Islam and how you explain the beauty of Islam to other people. It is not easy to make them understand especially most of them had very bad experience with muslim. I realised now that preaching is the task of all Muslim and that's why man are called "Khalifah" . I hope to extend my journey to other states so that i can see the world more and learn more from different perspectives. Insyaallah if you have faith to Allah, Allah will have faith on you. ^_^

5th semester result

assalamualaikum,
today the result was announced
to be honest i'm afraid if i'm slipped off from my schedule
5th semester is the most important for me
because if i fail one paper i can't go for 6th semester
to be honest during 5th semester lots of things happen
i have once promised that i don't want to actively involved in other activities other than studying
but i couldn't
and in fact i usually skipped my class
what can i recall is for the first 3 weeks of 5th semester i skipped most of the class
and toward the end of the semester i skipped one whole week for holiday in china
i even didn't went for class trip which carries 10 marks
and at the end of the class one of my lecturer read how many times you didn't attend the class
and i didn't attend the class for 7 times for this one subject
and most of the subject i have skipped for more than 4 times
i rarely went to international law class, law of association, family law and intellectual property law class
during the final exam i'm afraid if i can't do well
my carry marks was not good
but i keep on studying
to prove that despite lots of things happen
i can excel in my studies
i'm not expecting that i will be a dean list student (*though i will always hope)
but at least i can get better result other than non-active student
to be honest now i'm holding on many posts in my university
i tried to avoid but it's my passion
i couldn't stand one day without doing any job or work
but i want to balance between my academic and co-curricular activities
alhamdulillah
today when the result was announced
i can smile
even though my pointer is not that very good
at least i have passed my target
and i can see that i get A for my favourite subject
which i wish i could pursue during my practice
i want to get involve in international law
and alhamdulillah i got A for that subject
i hope next semester i could get another A for my International Law II
and other subjects
i know that Intellectual Property was hard and even i missed 10 marks for not going to MYPO
and during the final exam the question was hard
but alhamdulillah i managed to do it even though not like international law
and for Law of Association
the most fear and scary subject
and even i have once aimed by my lecturer for arguing the answer for the questions and for 7 times not going for the class
i can finally smile
not to forget to my Family Law..
i think i only went to the class for about 1/3 of the whole semester
alhamdulillah it was good
finally for my honours project paper
i was once target an A for this subject
but due to some problems especially when it's a team work
and u'r expecting that your partner will understand u but not
i'm happy at least i can smile and that's not too bad
overall i still maintained my pointer
and i hope that next semester i could do very well

p/s: maybe i should never skipped the class.. haahha ^_^
